Native American Heritage Month
Native Heritage Month

The “Trail of Tears” national college tour maps the rich cultural journey of America’s first people. The traveling exhibit brings to life several important events and historical accounts which contextualize the Native American experience. Through historical illustrations, photos, literature, video documentaries and authentic artifacts, we explore the beauty of the unique culture of the nations of the Cherokee, Iroquois, Seminoles and Navajo.

The Native American Exhibit (NAE) is a multimedia presentation that showcases the relationship between the Native American past and its present. We examine their gruesome struggle against exploitation, leading to the great death march of the trail of tears. To their overcoming adversity with production of several fascinating accomplishments in science, aerospace, communication, health care, agriculture, sports, entertainment and art. With their ultimate declared sovereignty, America finally recognizes these mighty people.

Patrons will also learn about the patterns of the lives of the Native American people with portrayals of their history, crafts, spirituality, technology and how it’s incorporated into their daily life.
